San Francisco outlaws plastic bags
Politicians are finally making some sensible environmental decisions – albeit on a small scale for now.
In San Francisco, law makers passed a law that will forbid large supermarkets and drug stores from distributing plastic bags. The following is a link to the full article from Associated press: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070328/ap_on_re_us/plastic_bag_ban
The next environmental challenge will be to educate the public about the environmental problems associated with paper bags. It has been reported that paper bags produce 70 times more water pollution and 50 times more air pollution than plastic bags during their life cycle.
Reusable shopping bags are the only way to eliminate this problem.
So, we’ve found a place you can buy them!!!
